Evening on Scapa Flow

Thanks to every Blipper who came inpast and left messages yesterday;  my mother always said I shouldn’t be encouraged. Not only messages but I received several cigars, oysters, a magnum of something fizzy, a Springbank 25yrs, a Hazelburn 25  yrs, a tie-dyed poodle and a signed photograph of Lorraine Chase when she was on her hot date with Jacob Bronowski.   I felt the Rendall pipe band was a hintette over the top. 


We delivered our houseguests to the airport and then proceeded to the Toon for messages.  During this activity I met Bunty in the car park at the rear of Bruces’ Stores (where else?).  She has been off the beat for some time, but she was still quite perky - she’s a tip top SCD performer and always my partner in the Earl of Mansfield.  Today has been a flat calm beautiful day so I ventured for a walk to test my knee.  Being a connoisseur  of hedonism I cleaned out the gutters and spoots when I returned to HQ.  I took time out to photo this work boat, floating gently across Scapa Flow under a light shower.
