A busy day
Started with a cancelled art lesson, so went on a 26k bike ride with B. We just took quiet, beautiful roads and went via Chigborough Lakes and Latchingdon on the north-east side of Maldon. We found a church and paused to stretch - we ended up chatting to a lady who was decorating advent wreath ready for Sunday's service. Invited in, we got chatting ... they are raising funds for a replacement church bell as they have death watch beetle in the workings of the present one; a regular congregation of more than 20, impressive for an out-of-the -way church; Interestingly the church also boasts the 'oldest door in England', quite something for a small village church. Then I parked up to join Alison and Gab at the Wellbeing Event in town. We enjoyed home-made soup and a chat about everything parkrun. Several charity organisations were there and I was able to chat to a few people who may do a parkrun. We shall see. As Gab said it was all about making our presence known.
This evening at MAC we had a demonstration of thick and thin in acrylics by visiting artist David Passfield. Interesting. I feel motivated to give his layering, impasto style a go.
