The birdbath

Was standing in front of another house in this street, with my headphones on contemplating how I could possibly frame a shot, when the owner arrived. He asked if I was ok, and I had to improbably suggest that the house was beautiful and was looking for ideas. Truth was that the only reason I had stopped was that the house was so weirdly bland,  it was photogenic.
With a wave, I bid him good evening and then later found this one instead. No one was about so I took a shot from back a bit, just to be safe.
I guess, lesson learned. I’m usually pretty discreet and non-intrusive. The trouble is, I’ve become somewhat obsessed, from walking every evening, with the way people present their homes. It’s strangely satisfying to view my favourite houses and gardens, and compare with the oddities and quirky ones. There’s definitely a Venn diagram of these two types in my head!
