Truly Blippin' Marvelous

By JohnEdward

Winter light

Finally walked by the river .

Everything is suitably brown and sombre.

This poem came up in my flicking through the selected poems of Leonard Cohen published by the venerable old publishing house of Johnathan Cape in 1969.

 For Anne

       With Anne gone,
       Whose eyes to compare
       With the morning sun?

       Not that I did compare,
       But I do compare

       Now that she's gone.
