Business as usual
Yesterday's business was ... abnormal. Today was merely busy as Tuesdays usually are - but today began with a difference. I was still in bed, about to get up, when I told my phone to install the update that had arrived in the night. It was obediently doing this as I got up, when I suddenly noticed a new ship passing Dunoon on her way south: the new Arran ferry, Glen Sannox, at last released for business and sailing under the CalMac flag to where the crew will undertake familiarisation procedures before she enters service in the new year. I'll need to go the long way round to Arran to get a shot on her ... The reason, of course, for its being practically out of sight is the fact that the phone wasn't finished doing its thing and left me having to catch it at the very last minute. Good sunrise sky, though.
The rest of the day? I went to painting class and did some more work on learning how to paint sky. With clouds. I tried last time, but the results were laughably anaemic. I'm more pleased with this week's effort. Because it was a gloriously sunny day, I went a walk with Himself round the West Bay area as soon as I'd dropped off my painting things, so I was well tired by the time I was making dinner at the usual early-for-choir time.
Choir was good - a full practice, along with an extra second soprano who's often sung with us but was only now available for a few weeks and our next gig. I dropped out at one point to have a cough sweet and was able to stand and just listen. It sounded good.
And now it's well past midnight again and I've just been unable to download photos from my phone onto the desktop because they seem to be in the Cloud. I'm too tired to work it out and sort it, so I've airdropped them instead. I hate change! And I don't approve of the way all my apps change to black on the screen when it gets dark outside.
All very discombobulating.
