Sally Mair - Loving life

Christmas Cactus

I do find these flowers so exotic the way they twist and grow in all sorts of contorted shapes. This one reminds me of a fox somehow .
I spent the morning on some vacancy admin. Organising a builder's visit to the rectory and some chat about profiles, magazines and Christingles not to mention choirs (we don't have one).
After lunch I headed off to the Cancer Research Shop and spent an hour or so hanging and tagging children's clothes. I then sorted and tidied the children's books. I like to see them groups not only by author but when possible by height and width too. I don't go so far as colour, that would be rather random. We charge very little for children's books which I think is correct, and they are always in very good condition. There speaks the teacher as well as the Bookworm!
Our next task was to take C's car down for its MOT and service tomorrow. On the way back we stopped in the same cafe in Leith Walk as yesterday and were greeted very warmly. It was interesting to note that two other tables had customers who'd been there yesterday. I think that's a good sign. Today I indulged in a bacon roll as I didn't know when I'd be able to have dinner as I was helping out with the older girls again. Taking Isobel to dance was first then picking up Eilidh and taking her to gymnastics having stopped off at home for some beans on toast to keep her going!
Bonnie has been under the weather the last couple of days, picked up Josie's cold I think but she's taken it hard. She had something to eat this evening for the first time in a couple of days. She looks so miserable, wee soul.
