After the Work Party
This morning, five of us met at our local wildlife area to carry out the final scythe, this year, of the wildflower meadow. As this autumn has been so mild and wet, the grass and other plants have continued growing strongly, and there was a satisfying amount of vegetation for Martin and Caroline to cut. I was chief raker-upper while the other two ladies in the photo were doing some tidying up and pruning. It proved a glorious morning with plenty of sunshine. As well as practical work we discussed how we might celebrate in 2025, that we will have been working on this patch for 20 years. We desperately need to get some younger people involved too!
