Not In Scotland

We were late up this morning. I'd got up at 6AM for Moggy Feeding, went back to bed and next I knew it was almost 10AM! So I had breakfast, got ready and then Brian took me to visit my Mum in her care home whilst he went to look for his Blip at Hartsholme Park.

My Mum was actually awake most of the time I was there and seemed quite well - as much as anyone in the advanced stages of dementia can at least. The latest owners of the home seem to be getting more organised now and the place seems better than it was when they first took over.

After Bri picked me up I got him to go back to Hartsholme so I could get a Blip too. It has been a cold day but bright and sunny with luminous light. I took a few scenery shots near the lake and have included one as an extra. My blip has to be this little Scottish doll who I noticed sitting in a tree in the car park - hopefully soon to be reunited with her owner. I went with this as the main shot as it's different from the usual.

We came home via Lidl, where we popped in to get a couple of things from the bakery. We ended up spending over £40 - you can get quite a bit for that in Lidl! It did include  wine and a large box of Wiskas pouches for Minsty. (The wine is not for him, obvs...)

After lunch I baked a batch of spiced cookies. That was a faff! I'd managed to make my mixer work yesterday so decided to use that. Only once all the stuff was in it refused to work again. I was not impressed, but removed all the sticky stuff and set to baking the old fashioned way with a bowl and spoon. Bria walked past the mixer and pressed its button again. Lo and behold, it worked! So I went back to plan A.

Things that are temperamental and work sometimes are more annoying than things that break properly!

Anyway the cookies are now baked (Half of them at least - the rest are going in the freezer as it makes 20!) and they smell sublime! I will have to look for a Vegan version ready for when the Girls come to stay at Christmas.

Talking of the C word, we have made a start on present shopping!
