Day of Storm Bert

Power down, both phones and internet off, communication completely severed with the outside world. As  I went across to my neighbours  the force of the gales was so strong it was scary.

T came with the farm truck and scooped me up and took me down to their house.  We decided to go into town for a hot lunch with the children.  The rain was torrenting down and floods on the road were beginning to form.  After lunch we went on to Castle Gardens Christmas shop to entertain the children for an hour or two before returning home, driving through deep water at times but we got back safely.  Power returned at about 5.30 pm.  Did we appreciate it ! and I feel so sorry for those whose homes have been completely flooded out up country.
