Chateau de la Brede

This chateau in the Gironde was owned by Charles de Montesquieu a landowner and philosopher. He wrote widely about his travels and would call on his secretaries at any time of the day or night to record his thoughts. It is no wonder then that he went through 30 secretaries in his lifetime!
