Sandstone

Needed to get out for some fresh air at lunchtime. It was just a short stroll, since the wind was rather harsh and cold. I walked past the Crichton Memorial Church and took a closer look at the wonderful sandstone work. It amazes me what detail the stonemasons can bring out of the material. I wonder how many pieces of stone are being destroyed before the right design emerges.
