Outblow and Outflow

The last big gusts of Storm Bert had blown themselves out this morning, so Crummock was only a bit bouncy with a slight swell, despite the grey sky. The extra rain though is causing a good surge of white water over the weir and the rest of the lake has been roiled so its previously clear waters now holds a tinge of organic murkiness. My swimming strokes produce fewer but bigger bubbles than normal and they have a slightly gelatinous look with slower but more deliberate popping qualities. Plop!! instead of Plink!  Oak leaves floating on the surface jigsawed themselves into undulating rafts of long drifting patterns which I did avoid as I thought  they might end up like sticking plasters all over my front.

As usual, the cold of immersion gave a new lease of pain-free life to my wrists and fingers. Hurray! Jarring from last week's bicycle ride and moving boats all day yesterday had not done them any good at all!
