Last day in Edinburgh
Today was our last day in Edinburgh for a while, and first thing this morning my human was in a very bad mood. Do you want to know why?................. We popped into the garage on the way back from my walk because our car is waiting for two new tyres. If you follow our Blips on a regular basis you will have read about the car tyre saga. See here & here. Anyway, long story short.................. garage said that the tyres were definitely coming this morning so the car would be ready in a few hours. Ann asked if she could have it back at midday (at the very latest) because we had stuff to do. They said they couldn't guarantee what time the tyres would come, but they would phone as soon as they showed up, and it would only take half an hour to fit them after that.
By 12.30pm (which according to Ann is the afternoon) no one had phoned, so she phoned the garage who said they'd chase up the tyre people and get back to her. .................Nobody got back to her, so she thought, 'stuff this,' This garage obviously just thinks I'm a batty old middle aged woman who knows nothing about cars, which is true and she phoned 'Kwik Fit' who had the tyres in stock and could fit them this afternoon.
By 1.30pm Ann wasn't just in a bad mood. She was furious!!! She went to the garage and told them she couldn't wait any longer and she was taking the car away. While they were preparing her invoice for the service, guess what happened?............... The tyres showed up. The owner said he would fit them personally and he wouldn't charge her for them because he wanted her to be happy, but he could totally understand if she just wanted to leave. Mmmmmmm................... it was a no brainer really. Two free tyres. Obviously she would have been mad to turn that down............... Now I have a happy human again.
As for my Blip today.................... After my morning walk and breakfast, Ann said, 'Trixie, we might as well go for a big long walk, it's going to drive me mad sitting here waiting for the phone to ring.' And also it was a lovely day and my walks in Edinburgh, during the last month, have been fabulous. We walked for more than 6 miles and I had such a nice time. Ann couldn't choose which photo to use so she's made a collage of me.
Sooooo................... that's been our last day in Edinburgh. I've had a fabulous time going on a lot of big long walks. Ann loves the walks here because we can walk for miles & miles, and if we get tired we can generally just jump on a bus and come home. We can't do that in Cornwall so need to be a lot more organised and plan circular walks, etc. ................Or else just go and play on a beach which I love.
To be honest, I don't care where I live as long as I'm with Ann.
Ann has had a lovely time in Edinburgh with her friends, (especially Fiona, Susi & Iain - thank you for making the effort to see my human on a regular basis). BUT...................... she's only 65 years old, not 105 and apart from eating and drinking wine/coffee, she wants more.........
In St Ives she has a job (first shift back at the 'Harbour Pool & Snooker Club' on Thurs afternoon), she does sea swimming (OK, she's a fair-weather swimmer but is determined to do the Boxing Day swim), line dancing on a Tuesday night and Zumba.
Much as my human loves her friends in Edinburgh.............. all she's done for the last month is eat a lot and drink a lot of wine. Lol!!!
Heading back down south tomorrow with two new free tyres. Yay!!!
