Three weeks Post Operation……….
……….celebrating with a very short walk in Sutton Park down to Blackroot Pool and back to the car park at Blackroot Bistro.
We went for a coffee there before going down to the Pool and back.
Absolutely loved being outdoors!
We had to have our regular tree surgeons out today as a whole part of one of next door’s Rowan. (Mountain Ash) Tree fell into our garden overnight on Saturday in the storm.Thankfully it didn’t do any damage, as it fell on to the thick Box hedge and its fall was partly blocked by the thick boundary hedge in between our two gardens.
Once again they made short work of clearing it. Stephen had been round to our neighbours to let them know what had happened. They are a very pleasant couple and we hardly ever hear them. Their two children who were born there, went to the school opposite and then to University, now have left home. One is working and the other doing a Masters up at Manchester University.
Looking after the trees in their own garden is not really their forté.
Random loppings take place but they often leave a gash here and there rather than a clean cut. It means some of the trees then suffer as a result.
However the tree men told me the rest of the one which lost the huge trunk like branch, is ok for the moment.
It is a sunny bright and breezy day here.
The local news footage about the floods is hard to take in at times,
Some devastating scenes.
Here today you would never have believed that we had a shed load of snow last week.
Stephen is going to buy some Christmas cards from our our local Charity shops this afternoon, and “ we are making a list, and checking it twice….” to quote the song.
I am about to begin another book as I have a bit of a rest this afternoon.
One of a Classic Crime series called “Murder on the Tube”!
