First Impression
The first impression is that I’m making a ridiculously healthy pot of food but the extra shows the real thing - really healthy plus sausages. More importantly though, after eight hours in the slow cooker it tasted great. The idea of the slow cooker is that you just chuck stuff in, leave it cooking all day and get on with ‘important’ stuff. The reality was that I had nothing I particularly felt like doing other than getting a loaf going so I ended up giving it a stir every couple of hours.
Sitting watching the start of a Dark Waters episode tonight and S said ‘I smell toast. Has Barbara burnt the toast again?’ (our elderly downstairs neighbour does that now and then). Sadly she hadn’t though - I’d forgotten about that loaf. So now we have a Sourdough Toast loaf. On the plus side, it has a great crust.
