And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind . . . Neil Diamond
Mono Monday . . . Something You Cherish
I cherish the little everyday things I come across in nature. Today it was the grasses that are growing wildly in neglected parts of the garden. They have a variety of seed heads and shapes that wave in the breeze. I put a selection in a bottle and put them on the window ledge in the garage and held back the net curtain. Why there are net curtains in my garage I do not know. They were there we we came here.
The Grass House
The grass house
is my private place.
Nobody can see me
In the grass house.
Feathery plumes
Meet over my my head.
Down here,
In the green, there are:
Seeds
Weeds
Stalks
Pods
And tiny little flowers.
Only the cat
And some busy, hurrying ants
Know where my grass house is.
