By chance, I stumbled upon these remains, which I assume belong to the skull that I discovered yesterday. Although not far away, they were not so obvious, being hidden amongst the tall vegetation of the wetland.

Again, I made a selection and dropped the exposure of the background to show the skeleton as a specimen. Unfortunately, the object selection was not as clean this time and I tediously brushed in any missed bits.

It was a bit of a shock at first sight and to think of its demise. Especially as my foot went down a hole into the remains of a burrow at the same time. After steadying myself, I reflected on how nature is really happening all around us.
