Like snow off a dyke…

After yesterday morning’s blizzard conditions today was a total contrast.
The rain and rise in temperatures meant most of the snow has gone overnight just leaving all the drifts behind dykes and in gullies.
Did manage to get the bike stuck going through a gateway drift but after a bit of digging and a lot of swearing eventually managed to get mobile again.
Not a good day cattle wise though. Yesterday’s newborn calf has died as I thought it would. I will need to try and source a calf to twin on to the cow.
And a dead calf in one of the fields too. It was ok when I fed them yesterday, but I could hear a cow roaring last night so I expected that was what was wrong.
She will just need to run yeld as the calf was 2 months old so she won’t take another calf now.
Spent the rest of the day mixing feed, feeding cattle and various other wee jobs.
It was about 15c today but the wind is picking up again tonight so hopefully it stays dry.
The extra is a bit of storm damage....
