Storm Bert

Bert arrived overnight with wind and heavy rain. There was some flooding on the lower level roads but nothing on the scale of that further downstream. Living up a hill  we were ok but the water treatment works above us was flooded with run off from the mountain so we are having to boil water for the next few days.  
There was a point when we were cut off as both of the roads up to the main road had flooded but these were soon cleared by the fire brigade. Walked up to see how bad it was and took this at lunchtime as they were still pumping out some properties, you can see some debris on the road.
Don't think it has stopped raining for the last 48 hours. Somewhere this morning also took the decision to cancel the church service so no one felt obliged to go out and had the sad news a member had just collapsed with no warning last night and passed away.
