Rhuddlan
SATURDAY
Storm Bert arrived overnight and, compared to the rest of the country, I think we have been let off lightly.
It was windy first thing this morning which necessitated the removal of the hanging baskets and it's rained a bit but we have seen nothing like the snow and flooding experienced in some parts of the UK. After a cold start of around 3ºC, temperatures climbed into double figures by late afternoon.
After lunch, I headed down to Rhuddlan for the Bowling Club AGM. All the usual faces were there. We have had a fairly good season and the club has improved its financial position - so no increase in membership fees in 2025 and due to an increase in membership we are registering a 'C' team next season.
I stopped off by the river on the way home to take this photo.
On another note, Harriet and George are heading to New Zealand. They left home in Nottingham this morning (Saturday) at 07:00 am and at 11:00 pm had just landed at Dallas Fort Worth for a five hour stop over. They will eventually arrive in Auckland on Monday at around 08:00 am local time after travelling for 40 hours.
