After 27 hours of non-stop sleet and rain it was finally dry enough to go out.
First a walk down to the shops for essential groceries then a drive to Grasmere for a short wander. The river was at the top of its banks as I passed Rydal and there were numerous big puddles on the road. The blip I had in mind didn’t exist (a field that’s often flooded wasn’t) but I had a walk along the riverside path, around the Wordsworth daffodil garden and finally around the church where I took the blip.
Surprisingly there was no queue for the gingerbread shop.
