Lacock Abbey

After a very hot night, we continued our drive south, stopping off for some breakfast and lunch provisions. While it was quite a nice day we did drive through some thunder and lightning. BB told us that there was the same back home. About twelve miles from the junction we were aiming for, we got stuck for ages, a complete standstill. We eventually made it to Chippenham and our hotel for the next couple of nights.

We spent the afternoon at Lacock Abbey. We had our picnic in a park, before wandering around the grounds, gardens, and the abbey itself. It was very hot, so nice to be able to escape the heat in the abbey, and under the trees in the grounds. We ended our visit, with a wander around the very picturesque village.

We went back to the hotel to freshen up, then headed out to find somewhere to eat. There wasn’t much to choose from, but we ended up in an Indian restaurant, where we had a very nice meal.

We FaceTimed BB when we got back to the hotel, and fave him a list of chores!! His knees are still very sore, we gave him more advice on caring for them. I do hope they don’t get infected.

This is Lacock Abbey, with a magnolia grandiflora. The extra is the cloister ceiling.
