Project Jonah

Lottie and I walked at Sumner this afternoon.

For a minute I thought there was a whale beaching/ rescue underway but as we got closer I could see that it was a training exercise for volunteers with Project Jonah.
They will use their skills should there be a real beaching.

It’s happened twice here in the past year so it is a great that there are teams all ready to help when needed.

They use different methods to try to get the beached whales back out into deep waters.
