Snow day

Well for once the forecast was right, and the white stuff started to flutter down last night and there was quite a covering by this morning. I did try taking a photo of the snow covering the the back garden, but then realised I had the reflection if my camera in the conservatory glass.  So, just a photo of the car tyre and road to give some idea of the depth of snow.  Felt sad for our community choir members who were supposed to be singing at Ripon Cathedral today.  I was planning to go up into St Ives Estate to get done wintery photos, but then it started to rain and the snow started to thaw.  Thawing snow from the next village caused a flood like a river to come down the hill by The Malt - it flooded the bridge and nearly flooded the pub, but luckily they found where there was a blockage and managed to clear it before any damage was done. I am posting this at 11 pm and all the snow has now disappeared! The village play - Blackadder  was able to go ahead, although a few people didn't turn up because of the weather. It sounds quite windy outside now, so we'll see what else nature has in store for us!
