Grim (Day 3484)
Unsually I slept later than normal, but I was still pretty sore when I got up. The wander up the hill with Sigyn was unpleasant because of the pain and the ice. Even Sigyn was struggling to keep her feet.
Back home I got a message from my beautiful wife telling me the ferry she was supposed to be coming home on today was cancelled because of the weather. Considering the forecast poor weather, I decided it would be a good idea to go to town and get a pair of waterproof waterproof trousers to replace the non waterproof trousers I have. It seemed like a good idea to do the weekly shop while I was in town anyway.
As I wandered around Tesco I became aware of an odd sensation which seemed like "saddle numbness". The osteopath and GP had both warned me that this is one of the three "red flag" symptoms associated with sciatica, and I should get myself medical attention fairly quickly. I finished up the shopping and headed home. Sigyn needed a wander again, so I took her to Lyde. It was a fairly grim wander in strong wind and a threat of rain, a massive change from yesterday.
Back home, and with no change in the symptoms I headed to A&E. I was seen very quickly and examined thoroughly. The doctor reckoned I had done the right thing getting checked over, but he was fairly sure there is nothing to be concerned about which set my mind at ease. He prescribed another change in dose of my overnight painkillers, and suggested I pester my GP for physiotherapy and MRI scans.
Home again to relax while the saddle numbness gradually wore off. Fingers crossed for a better day tomorrow.
