Snow

Today our weather app said 'snow' so when we got up this morning we were a bit disappointed not to have any. I went for a little trek around the streets on my lead. It was raining and really cold, but no snow. Got back from my walk at 8.30am and guess what happened?.................... It started to snow and within 20 mins the world was white.

Watched a bit of catch up TV because that's all we seem to do these days and then Ann said, 'Trixie, I'll take you for an extra walk because I know that you love playing in the snow and it's not going to last for long.' As soon as I got let off my lead I just rolled & rolled & rolled on my back. Playing in the snow is a bit like playing on the beach. When I play on the beach, the first thing I do is roll around on my back. But when there's snow................. I have to stop every few seconds for a roll around. I LOVE snow. Obviously rolling around in the snow makes me very wet, but do you know what Ann had done before we went out?................ She had put my towel on the radiator so that it was nice and warm for me to be dried with when we got home. How nice was that?

This afternoon the snow started to melt, but our friend, Fiona, (who lives above the snow line) said it wasn't melting where she was and she cancelled a night out with Ann. …........Good local info. Ann thought, so she took me for my walk through Braidburn Valley Park and then up to Fairmilehead Park. We're guessing Fiona hasn't been out of her house all day (have you even got out of your Pjs Fiona? ha ha) because the snow wasn't any worse than where we live and it was most definitely melting. Anyway I did loads more rolling about and then on the way home, through Braidburn Valley Park, a boy in front of us found a manky old ball. He kicked it towards me and said to Ann, 'Does your dog like balls?' Well considering Ann washed all my manky old balls and I have to donate them to the 'Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home', I was well happy to have a new one to start off my collection again.

I was also well happy that Ann had put my towel back onto the radiator so that I could have a nice warm dry when I got home. And I got early dinner (& seconds) because playing in the snow has made me mega hungry.

As for Ann.................. she was supposed to be going out tonight but all 'Lothian Region Buses' were cancelled for most of the day think they're back up and running now, due to the inept council not gritting any of the roads. You wouldn't believe the number of abandoned cars/accidents that we've seen today due to a tiny bit of snow. It's not like the council didn't know it was going to happen? Or maybe they don't look at their weather app? OK RANT 1 over.

RANT 2 – Our car is still in the garage. See yesterday's RANT!!! The garage doesn't usually open on a Saturday and apparently they turn off their phones at weekends so Ann was unable to phone them. However, she was assured that her two new tyres were arriving this morning and they would phone her when the car was ready. Nobody phoned her. Not that she would have picked the car up today anyway, because she doesn't do driving in the snow, but that's not the point. Obviously the car is going to be in the garage until Monday now. We don't need it tomorrow but a curtesy call to let us know what was happening would have been nice. Grrrrrrr................. RANT 2 over!!
