Winter festival fair
The forecast was bad, and correct. Bert seems to have been having a great time all over the country today. Wet, cold and windy in Oban, with flurries of snow in the rain.
Today there was a craft market in the Corran Halls, so after the usual Saturday morning visit to the pier for fresh fish and a very quick visit to the library we drove to the Halls and were lucky to find one empty space in the car park. A full waterproofs job, even indoors - not that it was raining indoors, but easier to leave them on!
Lots of beautiful crafty things for sale, but what would we do with them? All sorts of wonderful wooden bowls and plates, but I don't need any more - and they're pretty expensive. So we came away without buying anything. I did accept a sample of mulled wine from these two friendly guys but didn't buy any.
Back home for lunch, lit the wood burner for the first time this winter and spent the afternoon writing a piece for the u3a Creative Writing Group on Tuesday. Then sorting the last of my photos from my week away - I'm left with about 400.
Quote of the Day: 'He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist.’ - Francis of Assisi.
