Storm Bert

The promised rain from Storm Bert arrived sometime during the night and met our cold air giving us our second whiteout of the week. It was still coming down when I got up just before 8.00 am but it had turned to rain before 9.30.

The birds were scrabbling for food from the  feeders, these blackbirds are looking for seed droppings from the smaller birds above. They were on the garden path too as they knew there were seeds under the snow there as Chris had put them out in the freezing conditions yesterday.

Everything’s dripping now, it’s wet, dull and dreary and we’re waiting to see if we get the extreme wind and rain promised from Storm Bert.

Thankfully we weren’t  going anywhere today but sad to hear our ATN choir friends have had their Ripon Cathedral gig cancelled.

A day for staring a jigsaw I think!
