Late afternoon walk

Thankfully feeling a lot better today.

Had my Ophthalmology appointment at 9am at the general outpatient of PRI this morning.

Morag had warned me that it would take a long time but it didn’t! First of all in with the Nurse who did the eye test with my own glasses on, then the close reading . Managed that not too bad and then she gave me the stingy drops in order to dilate the pupil which was a weird as hardly could see much detail.

In with the Consultant who gave me a good examination. Talked about various things regarding cataract surgery. Yes the left eye has deteriorated but the right eye is still not too bad and I am managing with this. The waiting list at Ninewells is 9 months atm. He did say that he would do it if I really wanted it done but his advice would be to carry on as is and I agreed with him. Explained how cataract surgery worked and the afterwards which was quite interesting. How short sighted people are more at risk of detached retina. How I have a long spidery area floaters in right eye. How he can put a corrective lens in but will see nothing close up and will need close sight glasses or can put a reduced strength lens in. Possibilities of problems that occur in a percentage. Said my optician is managing it well and I said I was happy to continue as is just now. But if I changed my mind I can call her secretary to be put on list.

Went to Nero afterwards for a coffee and pastry. Boy it was cold, and sunny though. My first trip out since Monday.

Went a walk up the Resy - read that the Christmas light switch on festivities have been cancelled for the weekend in Perth city due to Storm Bert bringing snow and high winds. There will be a lot of businesses left with surplus food as it is a huge event. Such a shame.

S was out at night. Finished Shrinking on Apple TV which have loved . Think they are only doing the one episode a week drop which is annoying!
