Invitation
Tonight we were invited to our yoga teacher's home for dinner (our first invitation ever in India) and we spent a lovely and fun evening together with his family. There were lots of typical Kerala dishes. The whole family eats skilfully with the fingers of one hand. And we realise that we lack the practice, especially when it comes to separating parts of a pastry or picking up sauces.
It was also interesting to learn that they do almost all their shopping online, including vegetables, fish, etc., even though there is a market nearby. Apparently it's cheap and quick and probably a remnant of the Covid era. The goods are then checked at the front door and if something is not considered good, you can return it straight away. However, this has apparently only happened once.
Return to the hotel later in the evening with an Uber (this is globalisation at its best when you can also order a service here with the same app). The journey took around 40 minutes and cost 525 rupees (6 euros).
What was also funny was that somehow many of the hotel staff found out about our invitation, which made for good conversation.
