Roll With It

Alien? - No

Following WWII the clean up from the Blitz started in London, the rubble from bombed houses and structures was bulldozed into the Thames. Over the years the movement of the river has eroded the rough edges of the bricks turning them into smooth rounded shapes. The one shown in the main picture is from this years Great River Race, an old air brick that reminded me of an aliens face. Picked up at Millwall Slip foreshore, carried through the race and brought back to Cornwall to make into a Club Trophy to go with last years.
The problem being that last years, shown in the extras, was still on the garden table. This one, the most common shape of brick on the foreshore, is known as a ‘plug’ and came up well after going through the dishwasher.
Both are now finished, engraved plates attached and ready for airing at next weeks club meeting.

Another quiet day recovering, accompanied my friend to a hospital appointment which involved me reading sat in the car waiting.
Home and a round the block stroll with Paddy.
