Any Questions?
Just got home from seeing ‘Any Questions’ go out live on BBC Radio 4 from the barn at Layer Marney Tower. It’s literally five minutes up the road from where I live, and tonight was the first time the programme has come from this venue in its 75-year run. The Labour panellist, Emma Reynolds MP, got a few ‘tut tuts’ and groans from the audience in this very rural area when speaking about the new inheritance tax rules on farms…
The last time I was present at an ‘Any Questions’ transmission was in 2004 when I was actually working on it in a Nottingham school hall, and I did feel quite nostalgic for my former career doing the sound for BBC Radio myself. Anyway, I would say that tonight’s programme is well worth a listen to the repeat tomorrow lunchtime if you are near a radio, or of course you can always find it on BBC Sounds.
