Greenfinch

A bitterly cold day today with very icy roads following freezing rain last night.  A Royal Mail lorry came to grief at the roundabout near Grange station and smashed into a stone wall.
The birds have been tucking into the food we have put out and we are making sure there is also some unfrozen water available for them.  This is a youngish greenfinch still showing some youthful mottling to the breast feathers.
