Shadows

I have become a little obsessed with shadows since I did the painting a few weeks ago.

Today has mostly been fighting with grey squirrels who are destroying my garden. They have eaten most of my bulbs from pots, having removed the wire first. They then continued to dig ones out of the garden. Later, I caught them burying bootie in the lawn and destroying the last bird feeder (squirrel proof, of course) that I have. I am not their friend.

I'm putting the painted bedroom together, having had a new carpet laid. There was a smell of paint and carpet, so I added a Molton brown glass candle and left it for an hour. Thankfully, I went up to blow it out a bit early. The glass had sheered, the top of the glass was on the floor in one piece, and the wax around the wick had caught fire. I couldn't blow it out. I had to carefully remove it from the room and smother it with a damp cloth. It was lucky I went up so early. Lesson learnt, I shan't leave a candle burning unattended again.
