1990: Margaret Thatcher resigns
Quote Of The Day
"We're leaving Downing Street for the last time after eleven-and-a-half wonderful years, and we're happy that we leave the United Kingdom in a very, very much better state than when we came here eleven-and-a-half years ago."
(Margaret Thatcher)
Bonus Quote Of The Day
"I hate Thatcher as much as the next person, but I will say this for her, she has put this country back on its feet."
(Rick a.k.a. The People's Poet, a.k.a., Rick with a silent "p.")
I guess Christmas came early for many people in 1990, or perhaps eleven-and-a-half years late if you are a glass half empty kind of person. Of course, others will disagree with both statements and that is their perogative in a democracy. Peace.
