In charge

I offered a suggestion today that in every couple, only one of the two controls the temperature of the home. Didn't mean anything by it in particular, but was commenting while putting on a jumper on despite having a new radiator (which can be turned down, unlike the old one).

Anyway, it turns out I don't pay enough attention to details such as the temperature of the house, which was ably proved by my not knowing the current location of the thermostat.
