Thursday
Gary turned up around 10am. We caught up and shared any news and then went back into Cheddar.
Maybe it's because the road through the Gorge is shut or perhaps because it's midweek in November but we practically had the caves to ourselves.
We had a thoroughly good time. Santa's grotto had been set up in the depths, ready for children at the weekends, so lots of Christmas trees has been installed. Very pleasing.
We stopped for teas and cakes and then climbed Jacob's Ladder to the top of the Gorge. A couple of hours were spent walking. The weather was superb even though it was very cold at times. Views were wonderful.
This evening, we all went out for dinner.
Clive and Gary's dad died two years ago today. Gary was talking about how much he misses him and then we realised it was the anniversary.
