Bay
I escaped at lunchtime and popped up to the allotment via B&Q* to get bulb fibre. Met up with a friend I hadn't seen for a long time, so spent most of the time talking. However he was taking down the huge bay tree on his plot and putting it on the bonfire pile. So I liberated a large bunch to bring home to dry.
I may go back for more tomorrow as I think it will make a good Christmas wreath and it is far too good to burn.
In the extras are the raised bed where I planted the elephant garlic etc the other day (spot the elephant garlic that escaped harvest earlier this year) and then a collage of various things still growing on the site. The red chard, rosemary (still flowering) and ice tube are mine. The ice tube was from the rain gauge, which is now cracked - hoping it is still waterproof.
*Using it before we lose it - the building owner has got permission for houses. Feeling torn as I will really miss B&Q, but the housing will be social housing, which is desperately needed here.
