Apples and Oranges

There had been warnings about snow since last weekend, but they (the weather people) couldn't tell if we'd get little snow or more snow. Yesterday they were warning about the 'more snow and strong winds' scenario, so I set my alarm earlier, just incase I had to take an earlier bus. I woke up to a white world with snow swirling around, and no busses from my stop...
So, I checked the other bus and saw that our bus company has an 'in case of' plan, for bad weather for example, and all busses go to and from the central station.
Outside the wind was strong, and snow reached over my winter boots. I got to the bus stop further away and thankfully one bus came. Sent a message to work that I'm on my way, but due to cancelled busses and weather, I don't know when I'll be at work.
When the bus reached the city center, I got off and went to the bus stop I usually go to when going the round about trip to work. No busses... After about 5 minutes I checked the 'in case of' plan again and saw that even those busses not usually going to the central station, were going there/leaving from today. So I started walking. I thought I take the bus from the  stop after the central, so I wouldn't waste time searching for my bus, and instead let it come to me. I waited for a while before my bus turned up and jumped on, greeted the driver with good morning, and off we went. A child on the bus said 'All busses goes the wrong way today', and he was correct, to some part. After driving in the wrong direction for a while, the bus turned in to the right street. I went off much earlier than I usually do (when going on this bus), because I thought walking through the forest in knee deep snow would slow down my journey. I did make it to work, just 40 minutes late, but a little over 1 1/2 house after I left home.
The bosses cheered when I came. We were two coworkers during the first hours, and my coworker was working in the basement. I did lots of smaller things, and also continued with my snowmen parts. I have 3 heads to finish tomorrow, 4 crochet scarfs and hats, and then the assembly process using a glue gun. Still haven't figured out what to use as arms... thin branches/sticks is my plan, but I don't know if we have enough.
Tomorrow I'll start with stamping tags, and when the ink dries I'll needle felt, then colours those tags and perhaps wrap some candles in cellophane. We'll see...
After my hours where done I did the same bus trip back home and it took almost 2 hours to get home, due to traffic and too many busses at the central station, queueing up o offload and load passengers. The first bus I was in, let us off in the middle of the street instead of at a bus stop, because of all the busses. The driver of my last bus let us off after the bus stop, at a pedestrian crossing, since the bus stop still has knee deep snow, and the pedestrian crossing had been plowed. We all thought that very kind.
Strange how people get when it's a snowstorm outside... more hellos' and smiles at people you meet. That's nice, I think. :)
Fingers crossed my bus runs as usual tomorrow!
