Textural Recesion

Following yesterday's theme, I decided on another low angle shot with rocks in the foreground. I've been looking for ways to simplify my images and using a low angle reduces the image to the shape of the rocks, water, trees and sky. It also reduces the area occupied by water, since almost 50% is taken up by rocks.

Although I shot this in b&w, I tried both colour and mono interpretations. I like both, so it was a tough choice. I think maybe the blue sky was distracting in the colour version.

There is also a progression from rough rock texture, through patterned water to smooth sky, which is more evident in b&w.
