7...

Lucy's birthday, I can't believe she's 7...!

We went round for a little tea party after she finished school. It was a freezing cold day but I walked round with baby in the carrier, which today, he didn't seem to mind!

I left it quite late to get her a present, things have been a bit crazy here and I felt like a rubbish auntie. In the end I made a mercy dash to Hobbycraft last night in the drizzle and damp to buy her a 'Sew your own cat' kit and a making friendship bracelets kit. When she opened the cat one she was delighted, as my sister suggested I get her something with sewing as she's keen to have a go, and she loves cats!

She had a happy time, even though we were trying hard to keep the focus on her and less on the baby. She was very attentive, and kept giving him kisses and he was very well behaved.

I think her best present (she was happy with everything!) was a tiny microscope from Grandma and Pops, her other grandparents. My sister set it up, and she couldn't wait to use the little slides that came with it. Even squealing "come and see this Alex!". I've never seen anyone so excited by a microscope, and I love how thrilled she is and keen to learn and discover. My mum took this picture as I cupped her little face to give her a kiss, and delight in her joy :-)

I so love our dear Looby-Doo.

The baby, having been on his best behaviour, decided to then scream all evening until he passed out face down on the big bed....
