(Not) Getting Straight
My sister is not very well at the moment, so sadly I was unable to see her today. I used the unexpected day at home to try and get a bit more sorting done. After breakfast I got straight on with emptying out the wardrobe in bedroom 2 and giving it a good vacuum inside. A few things went in the refuse sack and some others in the pile for charity. Then I put the remaining stuff back in the cupboard again, for want of somewhere else to store it. I’ve come to the conclusion that trying to tackle this on my own is a hopeless cause - I’m just not achieving much and am getting upset over and over again into the bargain. I’ve made the decision to bring in some proper help to get straight in the house, and have now begun researching various decluttering and downsizing professionals.
I went out into the crisp sunshine late morning, and paid a long-overdue visit to the car wash up the road. Because the garage is full of stuff from the flat I can’t put the car away, so it’s getting dirty much quicker parked out on the drive. I did a quick top-up shop in Tesco and bought some flowers to put on Mum and Dad’s spot in the churchyard, a day after what would have been their 75th wedding anniversary. I miss them terribly, and always will. I know my sister does too.
Thanks to BobsBlips for hosting this week’s W-I-D-E on Wednesday challenge, with the theme of ‘Straight’. Hopefully my tall red brick garden wall is pretty straight, and I can peep over the top of it at lots of lovely trees.
