Tuesday: Kit Kat Club

This afternoon K and I went into town for a lovely pre-theatre meal in Chinatown, before heading to the Playhouse Theatre on Northumberland Avenue to see ‘Cabaret’.

We’re both big fans of the movie and have seen several theatre adaptations over the years.  This one was very good - the theatre has been adapted to recreate the Kit Kat Club so we had a stage side table, rather than theatre style seating.  Elements of the performance started as soon as you entered the theatres, as if you were actually in the club.

It was an excellent performance - darker, and more sinister, than some of the performances we’ve seen, with the club scenes a little more edgy than is the norm, but, overall, we really enjoyed the experience and our evening out.
