Tessa and the Sewing Machine
Today's the day ....................... to follow in the footsteps
We were over in Moniaive this afternoon to meet the girls out of school - and look after them until Rob and Anna got home from work.
Tessa was very keen to get on with something she is sewing at the moment, using the lovely new sewing machine that she had for her birthday earlier in the month. She seems to have got the hang of it very quickly - but then she was desperate to have one, being a big fan of The Great British Sewing Bee.
Seeing her there, made me think how much my Mother (her great-grandmother) would have loved to see her, working things out and obviously enjoying herself. My Mum was a wonderful seamstress and dressmaker - and in fact, she could turn her hand to make most things, including hats and upholstery. But neither of her daughters or granddaughters shared her passion or her skill in this area - which I always thought must have been a source of regret to her.
Nice to think that, even although they never knew each other, they would have got on very well .......................!
