Portraiture

After the first 5 week course, I am now on the “Next Steps in sketching and drawing” course. There were 18 on the first course, there are 7 on this follow up.

The focus of this 6 week course is on portraiture. I missed last week’s which was all about eyes, nose and mouth. Today was full face, next week is hair and fur. I had some catching up to do so arrived 20 minutes early so that M could summarise what was covered last week. There’s a lot of working with circles.

For a first attempt it’s OK, although I’ve an awful lot to learn.

Arriving at the College I had to pass the “lanyard police”. There is an OFSTED inspection starting today, so it’s really important all students (I can’t quite get my head around being a student) wear their lanyards.
