Grumpy Old Man

Bring your own sunshine!

Woke up to frost this morning - not a lot, but a degree or two. I had a look out in the greenhouse to see what was going on as I'd put a few more plants out there before I went away - Mrs M has been closing the door every night.

I was a bit annoyed to find that the Impatiens niamniamensis which I bought as a small plant down south in August wasn't looking very good, to say the least. I'd brought it indoors a couple of weeks ago as it was flowering well, but as it was always dropping flowers on the table I put it back in the greenhouse, not really thinking about frost. Ha! Brought it back inside now to see if it might survive!

Back to the old routine. Spent the morning organising the prints for the competition at the Photo Club tomorrow night - the judge's recording was awaiting me when I finally got my emails to download today. At least I wasn't expecting a prize as I didn't enter anything!

We drove down to the ferry terminal to book a trip to Mull - we're going over there for Christmas with our daughters. I should have taken my camera as the sky was blue, the mountains of Mull topped with snow and a brightly lit ferry was coming in from the Outer Hebrides. But I didn't!

I walked up to McCaig's Tower this afternoon to try for a 'Back home' Blip, but as I came out on to the viewing platform the sun went behind a cloud! I hung about for twenty minutes or more, walking about to keep warm, then finally the sun made an attempt to come out and I took this picture. I walked home and by the time I was indoors the sun was blazing all over the blue sky again!  Ha! Patience!
