Nature Diary..A fleeting visit

A chilly, misty morning with a swift visit from one of our regular magpies, to feed on the bird seed and some cake crumbs lightly scattered on top of the wall.
      Too much seed and to many crumbs invite the local Gull and pigeons, but regular small amounts are recognised by the local Magpies and swiftly demolished.

A very cold day with the sky seeming to threaten snow but none down here on the south coast yet, thankfully, although many other areas further north have had heavy snow falls overnight.
I hope people remember to put out some food and some unfrozen water for the birds.
