Town swans 1, country swans 8!

I was treated to a right royal display on the river today.

In town the parents are escorting a single cygnet, from their original two, while upstream I was delighted when mum and dad swam, with their full compliment of eight cygnets, right up close to show them off to me.

Look how they've grown - since the beginning of June.

I plan to continue the 'Eat well for £20 a week' after my first successful trial. It has been a fun and delicious week. I've estimated that I actually only ate £12 of food. There is plenty to carry over to next week and in addition, without feeling hungry or bored at any time I have lost 4lbs in weight - an added bonus.

Today I bought some off-cuts of salmon for this evening, which I plan to cook Teriyaki style and serve with noodles, and strips of cucumber and spring onion.

When I get my act together I'll start publishing some of the recipes.
