A cool corner of Oswaldtwistle Mills garden.
I went on the train to visit Oswaldtwistle Mills for an hour this morning.
I love going there, as it is a visual treat with lots of goodies to try and resist, or to squirrel away for birthdays and Christmas!
After searching for a nice cool place in the garden to sit for a little while , I took a few photos and then had a wander around the mills.
There is an aviary there and at set times, an owl display, where the dear owls are teathered to perches and people can have photo taken with them.
I bought a recycled glass dish for snacks, and a scraggly thyme plant that needed re - potting. ( It now has a more size appropriate flowerpot and a warm sunny window sill.)
The assistant was immensely kind and help and answered my question really well about how to take cuttings.
Basically, you carefully remove a piece with healthy growth and remove some leaves to create a stem.
You then pop it into moist compost and cover with a plastic bag.
Place in a shady cool part of the garden and bingo, you will hopefully have a new thyme plant in a few days/ a week or so.
I love the smell of thyme in the sunshine.
It should get some pink flowers later on too.
Have a great weekend blipper friends.
