Out and About
It was rather brisk with the wind but the almost 50F made it tolerable for a good walk today. We walked along the river then detoured to an underpass to Steamboat Lane, then down along the main street back to the kennebec river. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s steamboats and tugboats were a common sight in Gardiner, Maine. The Maine Central Railroad, built in 1911, runs parallel to the river here but is no longer in operation as it was decommissioned in 1960 • This concludes today’s history lesson :) • Hope you’re enjoying your Monday • Peace & Love
